Rabbit Punch - Job and Dad

Rabbit Punch.  Scene where Job's Dad finds out he hasn't been attending school.  Jordan, who plays Job, was a first time actor and had no experience of sets or cameras.  It was probably the most intense scene of the film.  The Director and I felt it was important not to cut outside the room or show close ups on the Dad on the phone as all the intensity is in the boys face.   We wanted to get the audience close to the anxiety he was feeling and not break out from it to help build the tension.  I've always loved how wide lenses look when used close in on the subject.  The way it leaves room for the background while still feeling intimate.   And Jordan was brilliant.  Sony F55 with Zeiss Primes
