This was 3 x 1 hour comedy drama for TG4 in Ireland. 3 time travellers assume some important roles during Irelands rebellion and struggle to hold it all together. In this scene Earnest, who has been forced into the role of Irish leader, has come to an important decision. The overall tone of the series is comedy and this is reflected in the cartoonish nature of the sets, but there were also some serious moments, and when Earnest decides he has to die in order to fulfil Pearse's destiny, it is an emotional moment for the three friends. Just before shooting I stuck some black gaffer on the window frame to make a cross. He is a religious character and has made a fateful decision for his future, so it was interesting to play with light and shadows to hint at these elements in his journey.
